For many students, that answer is not always clear. Opportunities exist, but they are often disconnected from what students see in the classroom or from what they believe is possible for themselves. Too often, the next step can feel like it happens somewhere else.
Bunnelle Foundation recognized this challenge and made a commitment to strengthen that path for students and young people across our community.
Through its Cradle to Career (C2C) approach, the Foundation focuses on building connections across every stage of a young person’s journey, from early learning through education and into meaningful work. It is a long-term, community-wide effort rooted in a simple idea: when students can clearly see a path forward, they are more likely to stay, grow, and lead right here in Georgetown County.
Students are introduced to careers they may have never considered. They meet people, hear real stories, and begin to see what exists beyond the classroom.
That awareness turns into action. Students step into hands-on opportunities, gaining insight into what different careers actually look like day to day.
Along the way, relationships form. Between students and professionals. Between schools and organizations. Between education and opportunity.
Over time, those experiences shape decisions. Students begin to see a future for themselves right here in Georgetown County.
