GET TO KNOW TERRI

Tell us about your job position and some of your typical work tasks.

I am the Operations Manager for the Foundation.  I work closely with the Bunnelle Team to support our Strategic Direction including Pathways 2 Possibilities, Palmetto Giving Day, Common Issues, Common Threads, and coordinating events at the Bunnelle Center.

Favorite food: My favorite food is a good, thick, rare steak.

Favorite drink: I am very much a Diet Coke junkie by day and enjoy a salty, skinny margarita in the evening.

How do you give back to the community?

I enjoy spending time with youth in our community as a tutor and mentor.  The relationships I have made are very special to me and I enjoy helping kids expand their goals and reach their full potential.

What’s your favorite thing about Georgetown County?

The beautiful beaches along with the small town vibe are what brought my family to Georgetown County.  I have enjoyed raising my children here. Our treasured beach is my happy place. I also love the rich history that Georgetown has as one of the oldest port cities in America.

Best advice you ever received?

“Do not worry about the things you cannot control.”

Favorite book?

The Alex Cross series by James Patterson.  My go-to pleasure reading is police mystery novels.

Tell us something you wish people knew about you.

When I moved to South Carolina in 2006, one of the first people I met turned out to be from my mother’s hometown in Virginia and actually painted my grandparents’ fence as a teenager.  He and his wife are some of my closest friends.  Such a small world!
