MISSION: Our mission is economic development-creating businesses in Georgetown and Horry counties-and to assist in building prosperous entrepreneurial ventures. These ventures are expected to create high-paying jobs and attract capital investment. They will have a large and positive impact on the economy and quality of life in the community as locally developed enterprises. This mission has expanded to include other programs- including social entrepreneurship and microlending.
MISSION: To engage and empower fathers in the positive support of their children through goal-oriented programs that enable them to find stable employment, practice healthy parenting, and gain hope for the future of their families. “Strong fathers = Strong families”
MISSION: To reduce the injuries and deaths resulting from domestic violence. We partner with local agencies to provide comprehensive, coordinated services to victims of domestic violence and educational programs for our community.
MISSION: The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is dedicated to being one of the finest visual arts museums in the Carolinas. We strive to engage our community and our visitors through unique exhibitions and interactive, educational and creative programs for people of all ages.
MISSION: Friends of Coastal South Carolina is dedicated to preserving the ecosystems and wildlife of the South Carolina coast for future generations. To that end we support the respective missions of our coastal national wildlife refuges and forest through active participation in programs and projects that enhance these treasured resources. We work to instill a conservation ethic in students and encourage the next generation of scientists through our environmental education programs. Using our public lands as classrooms, our programs stimulate students’ interest in science and provide opportunities to participate in environmental stewardship projects. In addition to encouraging stewardship of our public lands through education, we also promote citizen stewardship through volunteer opportunities and advocacy.
MISSION: To preserve and promote the history of Georgetown County from its origins to the present for the benefit of the public by collecting and preserving historical information and artifacts, by operating a museum that houses and displays these materials and serves as an information resource, by providing educational programs and sponsoring and producing publications that increase public awareness of our heritage.
MISSION: We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
MISSION: To inspire and prepare students to succeed in a global economy. We are empowering young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-based K-12 programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential.
