Changes to our Grantmaking in 2018

As 2018 approaches, we would like to inform our current and future nonprofit grantees of a few important changes to our traditional Grants for the Common Good grant cycles. Grants for the Common Good is a competitive program for organizations working in Georgetown County in our five focus areas. Historically, the Spring Cycle involved the focus areas of encouraging positive youth development and addressing the root causes of poverty, while the Fall Cycle focused on promoting economic vitality, preserving the environment and meeting basic human needs.

Starting in 2018, the Spring Cycle will focus only on encouraging positive youth development. The Fall Cycle will now be composed of the remaining four focus areas. Applicants in all focus areas may request up to $15,000 in grant funding for a special project or general operating support. A portion of the funds that have previously been granted through the Common Good Cycle have been reserved for our upcoming Education to Career (E2C) Initiative work. This initiative aims at strengthening local employment outcomes for youth in Georgetown County by focusing on the intersection of encouraging positive youth development and promoting economic vitality.

The first step in the application process for the Spring Cycle, the online Letter of Intent, will be accepted from December 1 – January 11 at Should you feel you could use some help with the online process, please call the Bunnelle Foundation at 843-237-1222.
